Well it is official! The book Nanjing - Life On the Water's Edge - is finally out and the book launch is scheduled for July 14th here in Beijing. There will also be a large ceremony in Nanjing on July 17th which the book and myself will also be a part of. This is the second book I have authored and provided images for, the first being The People of Guizhou which will be released soon. Both books were commissioned and published by the Foreign Languages Press in Beijing. Pictures and video from the event will be posted soon.

The book comes in at just over 160 pages and features close to 100 full-color photographs. The six chapters give an introduction and a brief history of Nanjing, a chapter discussing Confucius and the Imperial Examination, a chapter that goes in-depth on the many folk customs of Nanjing and along the Qinhua River, a section on the famous "8 Beauties of the Qinhuai River", a section on the Buddhist world of Nanjing and a final chapter that focuses on the modern city life. The book is aimed to give visitors insight into Nanjing and some fun background when they travel to the city. The appendix is loaded with all the contact information for anything you would need while in town and - of course- makes a great gift! (The information on where you can pick one up will be coming soon...)
NOTE: It has been quite a while since I have blogged as the books and videos have been keeping me busy. But keep checking in as there will be more cool stuff - promise - to come! You can still visit my other site as well... www.brillphotography.com
